Project Goals
This Jean Monnet Chair project aims to fill the gap in the existing scholarship on EU-emerging powers relations by both integrating new courses to the existing undergraduate and graduate curriculum of the International Relations department of Marmara University and opening new academic debates on this specific topic of EU studies thanks to an important number of academic activities including seminars (to be organized most specifically for CSOs, students from other departments (engineering, architecture, science- literature, economics-management-banking-assurance), civil servants and military officers), workshops, international conference. Its intermingled teaching-research focus combined with its highly topical subject of research will certainly bring novelty to the existing EU studies in effective teaching activities such as monthly seminars and webinars and in new debating activities under the format of workshops, seminars and conference. This project also seeks to create impact by publishing short opinion pieces and various expert analyses on the relevant topic on the project website. Additionally, videos of some core seminars of the newly introduced courses will be available via YouTube to reach as many students, researchers, and scholars as possible on the project’s topic.
